Derrick and Laura | Big Cedar Elopement
I’ve photographed a lot of Big Cedar Elopements, but Laura and Derrick’s might be my favorite! Laura found me somewhat last minute, and I’m so glad she did. When I was trying to find favorite images for this blog post, I had such a hard time narrowing it down.
Laura and Derrick came to Branson from Texas for their Big Cedar Elopement. Their family gathered with them to celebrate, making it more of a “family elopement,” which is very common! The ceremony was extra special because Laura’s dad was also the officiant.
Laura spent most of her wedding morning helping other people get ready. No one was at all surprised because that’s just how she is! She is as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. Laura and Derrick planned plenty of time for the couple’s photos, and you know how much I love that!
We spent some time at Big Cedar and Top of the Rock, and they ended their time with me by making a margarita toast. Isn’t that the best thing about elopements? Who says you can’t toast with margaritas?
It was such a beautiful wedding, and I felt so fortunate to be a part of it! This might come as a shock, but we had this beautiful cloud cover and fog in August. Who would have expected this kind of weather in August? It was perfect, just like the rest of the day.
My favorite images
Here are some (and by some, I mean almost 40) of my favorite images from Laura and Derrick’s Big Cedar Elopement.
